Elizabeth Wellington is the Vice President of Wellie the Transporter LLC, and has been in business since 2004 as a minority business owner. Wellie the Transporter LLC, serves clients regionally. They focus on quality cost saving services and ensure adherence to external customer requirements through timely movement of freights. Elizabeth slashed administration cost 30% by negotiating pricing fees contracts with Town Airway Freight (TAF) Forward Air Freight (FAF) Express Logistics, K-Mart, Macys, Target, and Walmart, Amazon, and currently, M.G.R Freight Systems, Inc. For over 10 years, she has led multiple projects with many clients processing daily invoices averaging $850k. Wellington represents and advocates for business owners and individuals in the community. She is a mentor for Women Center for Personal Development (WCPD) a not-for-profit organization whose mission and vision is to “Transcending Barriers, and Transforming Lives” for women who live in shelters looking to regain their dignity, and to focus on a career. Some of Elizabeth’s current roles include Deputy Director for Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce Inc., where she represents and advocates for minority businesses and conducts outreach initiatives and programs–including community boards, block associations, non-profit organizations, districts and colleges.
Wellington is the Director of Social Events for the Alumni Association of Nassau Community College. She is also an Alumni Board Member on the Finance, Judiciary, and Scholarship Committees. Other community service includes Dream Foundation Scholarship; Black History Art Exhibition planning, LI Business Expo Advisory, Nassau Council Chambers of Commerce Planning (NCCC); Nassau Citizens Police Academy (NCPD); Nassau County District Attorney, Advisory Council, 2020 Census Nassau County. Prior to (LIAACC) she served Brooklyn, NY Board of Elections as a coordinator and served in 2017 Nassau County Board of Election Campaign co-chair for Hempstead Justice Judge Maxine S. Broderick.
Wellington graduated from Nassau Community College and John Jay College of Criminal Justice earned A.S and B.S in Criminal Justice. Master’s degree in Public Administration with two specializations: Human Resources and Management & Operations. She is married to Antonio Wellington, CEO/President of Wellie the Transporter, LLC. Her son Stephen Wellington also a graduated from John Jay College.
